What we build in
Haslet and North Texas

K4 Build Group handles the two halves of a backyard project that usually end up with two different contractors: the concrete on the ground and the structures that sit on it. That means one estimate, one schedule and one team responsible for how it turns out, whether you need a new driveway or a complete outdoor living space.

Custom cedar and steel covers, attached to your roofline or freestanding, plus pergolas for filtered shade. Footings and post locations are planned with the concrete, so the structure and the slab work as one.

Tear-out and replacement of cracked or sunken driveways, plus widenings, extensions, RV pads and front walks. Thickness and reinforcement are matched to what you actually park on it, from a sedan to a loaded work truck.

Built-in grill stations, counters, bars, fire pits, fireplaces and seat walls in stone, brick and block. Gas, power and drain lines are planned before the slab is poured instead of being cut in late.

New patios and full replacements in broom, smooth, stamped, stained or exposed aggregate finishes. Every slab gets proper grading, a compacted base, reinforcement and control joints planned for North Texas clay, so it stays level and looks good for years.

Cedar privacy fences, ornamental iron and gates, with posts set deep enough to stay straight through wet springs and dry summers in expansive clay soil.

New pool decking, resurfacing of tired decks and coping replacement, in textures and colors chosen for grip and for staying cooler under a Texas sun.

We pour the slab and build what goes on top

That matters more than it sounds. A patio cover's posts carry real weight and need footings under them. An outdoor kitchen needs gas, electrical and sometimes a drain line running under the concrete. A fire feature needs a non-combustible base in the right spot. When the slab and the structure come from different companies, those details get worked out after the concrete has already cured, and the fix is usually a saw cut, a patch or a post sitting somewhere it shouldn't. When one crew plans both, they're drawn on the same layout before anything is poured.

One contractor, start to finish

You're not coordinating three trades and hoping they show up in the right order. You get one estimate, one written quote, one schedule and one person to call with questions, from demo day to the final walkthrough.

Concrete built for this soil

Much of Tarrant and Denton counties sits on expansive clay that swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries. We plan grading, base, reinforcement and control joints for that movement and for summer heat, not for whatever is fastest to pour.

Structures that fit the slab

Covers and pergolas are designed with the concrete they sit on, so posts land on footings sized for them, roofs tie into your house cleanly and nothing gets improvised on site.

Built for
North Texas conditions

Outdoor construction in Haslet, Keller and Southlake has to handle a few things that builders in milder places never think about. We plan every project around them.

Expansive
clay soil

Clay soils move with moisture. A slab poured on poorly prepared ground can heave, settle or crack within a few seasons. We grade for drainage, compact the base and reinforce the concrete so it moves as a unit, with joints placed where cracking is controlled and out of sight.

Summer
heat

Afternoon temperatures near 100°F make concrete set fast and can weaken the surface if it dries too quickly. In summer we schedule pours for early morning and cure the slab properly, so the finish stays strong and doesn't flake.

Storms, hail and heavy rain

Spring storms bring wind, hail and fast runoff. Patio covers are built with proper connections and flashing where they meet the house, and slabs are sloped so water moves away from your foundation instead of pooling against it.

HOA and city rules

Many neighborhoods across Southlake, Trophy Club, Northlake and Argyle have HOA design standards, and most cities require permits for patio covers and street approaches.

How a K4 project works

Whether you're replacing a driveway or building a full backyard, every K4 project follows the same four steps, so you always know what happens next.

1

Free on-site estimate

We come to your home, walk the space with you, take measurements and check grade, drainage and access. We'll ask how you actually want to use the space, like dinners for six or a spot for the smoker, because that decides the size and layout. Visits are usually scheduled within 3 business days of your call.

2

Design and written quote

You get a clear written scope
covering dimensions, finish, reinforcement, structure details and what's included, with a firm price and nothing buried in it. For covers and outdoor living projects we include a layout drawing.

3

Build

Our crew handles demo, haul-off, grading, base prep, forming, reinforcement, pour, finishing and construction. We protect your lawn and driveway where we can, keep the site clean each day and tell you when the concrete is ready to walk and drive on.

4

Final walkthrough

We walk the finished job with you, go over care for the first weeks and don't call it done until you say it is.
